Weight Watchers Diet Review
Weight Watchers is the diet plan that I have been following (off and on) since January of 2007. I lost 20 lbs. pretty quickly and have kept that bit of weight off with exercise and moderation. I have a hard time calling this a "diet" mainly because it is basic calorie restriction with moderations of fat and encourages more fiber consumptions. The weight watchers plan is made up of two systems. The most popular and widely known is the flex points plan with requires a tally of calorie, fat and fiber to come up with a point count in all foods. When you start out you are given a limited amount of points to stay within on a daily basis according to your weight that creates a calorie deficit to lose up to 2lbs a week. You are also allowed up to 35 extra points to use as you wish and you can also gain points from daily exercise.
The other plan with weight watchers is called Core foods. When you sign up with this program you are given a list of Core foods that you can eat without counting, you can have as much as you want as long as they are within the Core Foods guidelines. Along with Core foods you can use up to 35 points a week to use as you wish.

Weight Watchers provides many methods of support which is what makes their plan unique. You can choose to participate in weekly meetings with weigh-ins or you can participate in the many message boards provided on their website. The website is a useful tool for me, because I'm always near a computer whether I'm as home or at work and I can track my food as I go. They also have an exstensive food database that you can look up the foods you are eating for the point values, or you can enter nutritional information on the site and it will tally it up for you.
The best thing about this plan for me is the flexibility, you can eat foods that you love, but learn to eat them in moderation. The negative side would be that a lot of foods we (I) love are foods that are hard to control, so you have to find out what foods you love, but how to have them without over eating them.
The points system can seem a bit overwhelming in the first week, but over time it becomes very easy to know how many points are in certain foods. I like that this plan is balanced and doesn't require starvation or leave you feeling deprived of food. You can explore so many recipes that are available on the website. My biggest suggestion for this plan is to…plan ahead and prepare foods ahead of time. Know what you are going to eat, or at least have some sort of idea about your eating ahead of time, its so easy to go into a tempting situation unprepared and end up eating all of your points in one sitting.
I highly recommend giving Weight Watchers a try to lose a little or a lot of weight!
