September Goals: outlook good

septgoals5 September Goals: outlook good

I spent some time yesterday coming up with simple goals for the month. I was really tempted to go the number on the scale route this month, but asked myself "what can i do this month, to bring me closer to my health and fitness goals next month?" For me, staying consistent this month will be huge.

I chose action to be my goal, rather than result.

This weeks exercise schedule:

  • Tuesday: walk 5k if it rains do 60 minutes on the elliptical
  • Wednesday: morning: go to the gym for strength training
evening: elliptical, tae bo, or 5k
  • Thursday: morning (before trip): do 10-15 minutes of stretching and a quick warm up
Evening: vacation at isle of palms!! go for a walk on the beach, swim etc.
  • Friday: vacation!! SWIM!
  • Saturday: vacation!! (yes, exclamation points are needed) swim, walk on beach!
  • Sunday: vacation!! swim, walk etc.
  • Monday: vacationnn swim and walk
  • Tuesday: last day of vacation icon sad September Goals: outlook good traveling home. do 15 minutes of warm up and stretching

  • I like all your goals. I especially like that you are choosing action! Excellent attitude.

  • Sounds like very reasonable goals! Hope you achieve them :-)

  • You can do it! It’s going to be awesome =) Can’t wait to read about how well you’ve done by the end of this month!

Fantastic plan and great goals! I always think it’s better to write goals down since it gives clarity and sets a time frame for each goal. What a great way to start the month of September off! Have a wonderful, happy vacation, Lorrie! I love swimming in the ocean! It’s great exercise, so enjoyable! I also feel like salt water is so so good for my skin! Love it!

  • Wow, vacation!!! So happy for you. More exclamation points are needed. :D

    Lorrie,

Hope you have a great time on vacation! I like your upcoming goals and am going to try something similar myself. (I am tired of being disappointed with # goals.)

  • Great goals! It’s always a great feeling when you achieve what you set out to do. Have fun at the beach!

  • I think it’s great to concentrate on something besides the numbers! Have fun on your vacation, hopefully one day I can find out what that’s like!

  • Great goals! Have a fun vacation. Just about 3 months until hubs and I go on vacay to Jamaica. Need it bad!

  • Hi,

Great job getting back on track. Sometimes it can be so hard to keep going and there’s nothing wrong with taking a little break. Setting out your goals is definitely the way to go and you’ve done a great job setting goals that are attainable and not overwhelming. Keep up the good work!

That’s awesome! I always get caught up on the number on the scale or sizes of clothes not the activity. I am going to give this a try too!

    Good luck! :)

  • Hi, You should really make your name easier to find in your about me section. I am still wondering what it is.

Also, what kind of breakfast do you have? Do you have breakfast? May I suggest the breakfast I have every morning.

Just try Step #1 of my 3 Greatest Secrets to a body you will be Proud of. It is a delicious sweet breakfast, almost like desert. All you buy is natural wholefoods from the supermarket. Email me if you want more clarification.

I was obese all thru high school and college. If I could go back in time and tell myself to do one thing different, this would be it.

  • I just want to say, you’re inspiring. And whatever snarky comments you get- IGNORE THEM! have confidence that you can DO this, and you will. as you are already aware of. Keep up the amazing work :D

  • You have a wonderful plan of action!!! Good for you!! :) Excited to follow along with your progress this month! Good luck!!

I love the idea of not counting calories but working a hunger scale. I think counting calories can drive you nuts after awhile.

Have a great time at the beach, love the new goals.

    :)

  • You have a wonderful attitude. It’s good to take action. I’m doing the same thing (taking action). You should take a look at http://www.myjourneytothin.com. This is a wonderful plan that will allow you to eat those wonderful foods you enjoy and lose the weight.

Hi, I love your blog, good on you!

Your goal about asking “is this real food?” and “am I full?” fits with the concept of the Don’t Go Hungry diet (http://www.dramandaonline.com). So you don’t have to buy the book (I did and I think it’s great), I’ll tell you what Dr Amanda says. Get a book. Rate how hungry you are before you eat and write it down, eat a wide range of healthy foods, take regular exercise, rate how full you are after you eat and write it down. The idea is to eat only when you’re hungy and eat until you’re satisfied. Sometimes you might eat more, sometimes less. It works because it stops your body from having a famine reaction and slowing your metabolism. So simple! No counting calories.
