Insanity Workout Review: Day Two

Sweaty and sore pretty much sum it up. We just finished day two of the Insanity workout and guess what? It was insane. We actually got into the workout today and it was by far the hardest workout I've ever done. Ever. In my whole life. It was like Biggest Loser contestant hard. Grunting included.

For serious. I loved it though. How is it possible to enjoy something that is so hard? For starters when I couldn't do an exercise like say jumping push ups, I modified it and pushed myself. The 45 minutes went by quickly and while the exercises were hard I liked not having to memorize steps. The warm-up was just as hard, if not harder than the actual workout.

Check out my GoWear Fit results:

See that huge spike around 7pm? That was Insanity, I was burning up to 14 calories per minute. I can only imagine what my body is going to feel like tomorrow.

Oh! I (we) got new workout shoes...this is funny to me, but we got his and her's nike air span + 7 running shoes:

I'm still following the "S" plan (no snacks, sweets or seconds except for days that begin with S or special occasions) and it really has cut out a lot of excess eating. I did allow myself to have moderate seconds as lunch today to make up for not having breakfast, but I'm really pleased with how I feel on this plan.

I've moved my weight loss goal up to April to coincide with our trip to Vegas on the first, I really want to be at 265 by then! What goals are you working on?

  • Great job! You are feeling those endorphins :D

The his and her shoes are cute! You are inspiring me to get off my lazy butt and move! Also I really like that you post your go fit results/graph. The graphs are neat to look at. I’m thinking about getting one!

  • Hey! I love your blog- just recently started reading… I started the No S plan a little over a week ago! It’s going well so far- one of my goals for this year is to lose 50 pounds… goal by April is to wear size 20 jeans (right now a 22).

  • Cute shoes! I’m going to have to check out this Insanity workout!

  • I want to be 200 pounds by my 22nd birthday on March 23rd! I hope you make your goal. I’m pulling for ya!

    -A-

  • My goals consist more of the type of gyming and training I want to do. I’ve been thinking about starting a running program and I’ve also been hitting the rowing machine really hard because I love the dual cardio-muscle-building it gives you!

  • you guys are total CHAMPS-i saw the infommercial and was pretty scared out of my wits ! power to you!

  • I have a friend getting married June 12th, so my goal is to be down to 175 by then. I’d love to be down to 169, but I think that’s pushing it a bit. Anyway, that’s my goal. :-)

  • I’ve kind of let some goals slip a little this past 2 weeks, between buying a new house and buying a younger car I’m a little all over the place at the moment.

Its great to see that you’re moving your goals closer rather than farther away..congrats!

  • Duuuude, 14 calories a minute?! That’s bananas! GO YOU.

  • Wow, 14 calories per minute is an amazing workout, you’ll soon see the effects of it in your body shape. Keep up the good work

  • Lizzy

    I love the charts!
Have a great trip to Vegas! God know we need the economic support out here. Make sure you call the hotel and tell them its some special occasion and you want an upgrade or something to celebrate!

  • That is awesome that you are keeping with it! I saw the same commercial for Insanity and considered it but chickened out! You are so inspiring! Keep it up! I can’t wait to see how this turns out for you. If it is good I might just rethink my decision to be a chicken. =)

  • I love, love, love Insanity. That is so awesome. Way to track it. Keep it up!!

  • Just started Insanity last week, and I know its gonna put me in the best shape of my life!

Follow me on my journey at http://www.InnerVideoVixen.blogspot.com.

  • The Insanity workout is nuts. I was so sore the whole first week.

  • cydney

It is so nice to find someone with a similar goal!!!! I stumbled across your sight today and got sucked in :) Great to hear you work outs are going well I have a wedding coming up and at least 50 pounds to lose before then! I’ll definitely keep checking in on you.

  • Kari

OMG, I just ordered the Insanity workout program today! I can’t wait for it to arrive, and I’m hoping I like it as much as you do thus far!

  • marie

i just ordered insanity today and im so excited. from what you say in your post above it sounds pretty crazy and intense but im gonna go for it. i have never done much sports in my life–i was always the literary/music type of kid that never got much activity, but im ready for a change and it’s nice to know that others are just starting on this program too. the matching shoes thing is really cute by the way. keep up the good work!!!

  • I just started my first blog page today, I’m wanting to get healthy and I thought I would try keeping track of what I do, by blogging. I have enjoyed reading your blogs and wish you all the luck with your weight loss…Have a great trip!!

  • I have Insanity and it is just totally insane. It kills p90x in difficulty. I think that I am going to try Brazil butt Lift. For Latinas it has great dance :) !!! Has anyone tried it? thinandripped.com

  • Angelique

    hey,
I started the insanity work out almost 4 wks ago, and I love it, the resuts are better than anything I’ve ever done.
I don’t want to know how much am on a scale, but i can see and feel a huge difference already, my pants and tops fit better, and I’m really starting to tone and schrink, I love it.
I’m getting married on June 26th, so wish me luck, I want to be beautiful for my husband that day.

  • Emily

I am starting my insanity program tomorrow. I am just concerned that I may be too overweight and out of shape to start with something so intense. Any thoughts in this?!

  • Sylvia

I love those his and hers shoes…they are really cute. I have recently started my own weight loss blog as well, though I have no experience what so ever.

Just gonna put my thoughts out there and chronicle my own journey.

My goal is to lose 10 pounds by the end of May.

All the best on your journey.

  • Corey

I’m not sure what your goals are but I hope that you and your partner both accomplish them! It’s one thing to complain about being overweight and it’s another, admirable, thing to actually do something about it! Congratulations! I’m sure by now you’ve already completed the workout series but I just bought mine and UPS shows that I should be getting mine today! I’m SOOO excited to get it but WAYYY nervous about the first workout! :/ Currently I weigh about 210lbs and I’m 5’8″ (male). My goals are to get into the best cardiovascular shape I can, get my weight down to about 180-190lbs, and get my eating habits under control LONG-term not just SHORT-term (for the duration of the workout series). I don’t have a blog or anything like that where people can follow me and give me support & encouragement but maybe someone can help me out with that. (???)

I have being working out for the last 6 years, I have had numerous personal trainers all with different styles, I have done kick boxking, boxing and interval training of all sorts .. I started the insantity workout on Saturday, October 1 and have never sweated like this before really look forward for the next 57 days.

  • Shaun T Lover

I love Shaun T. He is like the George Harrison of fitness instructors. The insanity workout calender is pretty smooth too – it creates a sense of accomplishment each day and keeps us on target.

Anyway; this is a great Insanity Workout DVD (VIDEO) review. The insanity workout program is truly exceptional! I definitely recommend buying it to people. It can be a really life changing thing if you stick with it.

Oh yeah and I love your site/blog!

  • stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive. ah ah ah ah stayinnnnnnn aliiiiiiiiiiiiive!

  • I’m in the second week of Month #2 of Insanity and it’s brutal..but also amazing. I still have a hard time doing a full man’s push up, so I too modify when I can. That being said, push-up jacks are my favourite exercise to do (even though I can only pump a few out at a time ) I would really like to track more my calories burned, so maybe I’ll check out the Go Wear Fit. Also..Shaun T is pretty easy on the eyes :) Great job! Dig Deeper :)

  • Hey there! GREAT blog. I did insanity a few months back and it is definitely a love/hate thing…. I got the pleasure of meeting Shaun recently…. ::Drool:: too bad he swings the other way…. hehe. But this enables me to drool in front of the hubs. LOL

I just started the insanity workout yesterday.. I did my fit test, and I am ready to go..

I have been on the Nutrisystem diet for more then a year, and now my weight is stuck at 190 lbs.. Don’t get me wrong I was at 250 lbs.. So, 190 lbs is nice.. But I want to get 170 lbs soon.. So, I made the decision and starting.. Can’t wait to see where it takes me..

    Good luck everyone..

  • daray

I started The insanity Workout today And i feel great bt i was wondering if i dont follow The eating guide bt i eat healthy Will i loose weight?

  • Erin

Ha I am a mother of four and have been battling my weight and my love for sugar most of my life. Just wanted to let you know that I am stoked for you and will be turning 30 in June. I had a goal to start loosing the weight and be at least at 170 by my birthday. You have inspired me and I’m itching to start the program!

  • Olive

Me and my husband started insanity 8days ago. I already had knee problems but is really overweight. Since we started working out I have a little more energy but my knee hurts like he’ll even more. Any suggestions? I don’t want to stop because I am really excited about my end results in 52 more days.

  • Scott

on my second day and i am acking all over looking forward to the results

  • Melonee

HEY Olive, i advice you not to push too hard especially if you do already have knee problems…even at the top of the pages its been said not to push too hard if you have a problem, and more important, to consult a doctor, just so you know how far you can go and what is your limit for working out…
However, the INSANITY workout is really INSANE… I don’t follow the food instructions as it exactly is, but i try to modify my eating manners, for the rest… energy, courage, determination, WILL-POWER. Im trying to go from a size 18 to size 14 on June, and i WILL achieve this goal!
    We ALL can do it!
