Let me just say I had great intentions yesterday and somehow the day passed by and I got a lot done, but didn't exercise! Good intentions for sure. I got a lot of cleaning done, caught up on some work, made two nice meals and then after dinner I felt horrible. It wasn't setting well, so I went to bed. Lesson learned? Exercise in the morning! Anything after that (IE: going to the gym with Josh) will just be a bonus.
I've realized, much to my surprise that I am more of a morning/afternoon person when it comes to getting things done. Once its dark outside, I pretty much do nothing. With that said I did exercise this morning and did 40 minutes of tao bo boot camp one with the resistance bands. I loved it, much like I love most of the tae bo videos and really think I can do version two soon. Version one was a little slow and really good for someone who has never done tae bo before.
Before I exercised this morning I felt my mind battling against me. Telling me not to do it, it would take a lot of time, it would be hard, it would make me tired, I didn't have enough energy for it, etc etc. I told brain to shut up and really wanted to check this off of today's to-do list.
How do I feel after? I feel accomplished, proud, energetic and actually way better than I did before I started.
Yesterday's food:
Breakfast: whey protein shake w/ 8oz skim
Snack: string cheese
Lunch: turkey and cheddar panini w/ spinach and honey mustard (pictured below)
Snack: two SF fudge pops
Dinner: spinach lasagna (one serving) w/ 2 slices of garlic bread
water to drink with everything.
This was really good! Its hard to go wrong here though: ciabatta bread, turkey, cheddar, spinach and honey mustard. I pressed the sandwich on my cast iron with another skillet to flatten it out.
So far today I've eaten a chocolate brownie clif bar and water.

That sandwich looks so good.
I haven’t tried Tae Bo in years. I might just have to give it another try.
I loved tae bo. I even had a beginning dvd. (It consisted of two 20 minute workouts.) I’m thinking about borrowing a tae bo dvd from netflix to see if I like it.
Anyway, the best thing (for me) about winter in Alaska is not feeling guilty at 3:00 pm when I’m on the couch watching a movie because its too dark to do anything outside. Of course that translates into major guilt at 7:00pm in the evening during the summer when the sun is still blazing, but whatever.
That sandwhich look amazing! I might have to make a similar one this week for dinner.
Hi! This is my first time commenting on your blog. That sandwich looks delish! Your meals look great, keep up the good work!!
I think you have finally motivated me to try giving Billy Blanks/Tae Bo a shot. I had the original Tae Bo years ago on VHS (when I was in HS) and the leotard/jumpsuit/bike short outfit that he wore as a bit scary, but I really did enjoy the work out. They have one of the Tae Bo workouts on the Fitness section of OnDemand, I think I’ll give it a try tomorrow!
Did I miss it? How did 30 Day Shred go??
That sandwich looks delish! Way to go with the exercising.
Sandwich looks really good.
I hear you on the morning workout “inner debate”. I do it every morning hoping it will get easier with time. This morning I didn’t win that battle, but I did Monday-Wednesday. Eh, tomorrow is another day. More motivation to get going in the AM then.
damn, that sandwich looks good. panini! yum!
Sandwich looks delish! I actually just started a blog of my own! Check it out when you get a moment
I agree totally on the morning workout thing. I am a personal trainer and even I (although I am highly motivated) find it tough to get to the gym if I don’t get there by noon.
I work at home designing online diets and workouts for people so it is really easy to get caught up in work and before you know it, it’s 4pm!
The best thing for people to do, is pick a time of day that works best for them and make a commitment and plan for a workout at that time. I have found that most people are better off to get it done in the morning, before all the days ‘to-dos’ creep up and excuses get easier.
Make a plan, and stick with it! It’s the only way to get things done!

PS your sandwich looks yummy!
What do you think of Tae Bo? I saw a set (6 dvd’s, hand weights) at Costco. I was really tempted to get it… but wasn’t sure if it was good or not.
Good luck losing weight, I can tell that you’re working very hard, and I know you can do it.
Tae Bo is really fun with Billy Blanks. (:
Take care,
Violet
