Decadence List

Back in December the lovely (and hilarious) Mizfit wrote about her Decadence List and I thought the idea was brilliant, so I created my own and thought I'd share. This is my list of non-food related things that make me feel good. It's a little blurry, but you get the idea.

I've got a few strange things on the list such as "whitening teeth" haha, but I really do love having clean/white teeth mostly because I spent most of my youth in braces. gah. Anyhow, what would be on your list? I'd like some more ideas! Its really helpful to have this list printed and handy. If I could add anything to this list now it would be my new figure drawing class and strength training.

On a sidenote, I added a link at the top of my blog titled "progress" where you can see my weekly weigh-ins. I went to the gym last night for an hour and a half! I spent 50 minutes on the elliptical watching The Biggest Loser, I had only intended to stay on for about 15 minutes and move onto the rowing machine, but I was glued to that show. I forgot how good it is!

  • I love the idea behind this list and the list itself. You definitely have a few of my favorite things on there. I would also have watching comedies and standup. I love to laugh so anything that can make me do that puts me in a better mood.

  • lol…I ended up working out for the whole show too. It’s so easy to do when your glued to it and so focused on it, isn’t it. I’m thinking I need the box sets! lol…

I think a few things that would be on my list would be…

    sipping hot chocolate
laying on carpet (that one might seem odd, but oh I love it).
getting cozy in bed when you’re just about to fall asleep
    visiting my nephew
    having a bath
being around animals of any sort

Very cool idea – nice to have a list of alternatives to eating cookies to cheer up! I’ll have to make up one of these lists for myself.

  • This is a “gravatar” enabled blog so anyone can upload their own avatar like Merry Mary has up there and it will show up on this blog’s comments (and all other gravatar enabled blogs.) Pretty cool, eh?

  • Love this idea. I think I may come up with one of these for myself. Might be good to look at when I want to reward myself with something (other than food). Don’t have any to share right now.

Love reading your blog and so often am nodding in agreement and understanding to what you write. Here a few others on my feel good list:

The feeling of satisfaction, pride and tired muscles you have after a hard workout. During isn’t always fun but I love the pumping endorphins after.

Chatting with a close friend or family member – either on the phone or in person, just someone that gets you and it is easy.

Hot shower, fresh PJS, fresh bedding, chilled music like Norah Jones or Jack Johnson, scented candle and good book – calorie free bliss.

    Playing with my dog

    Completing a To Do list

    Dancing
